General Questions

Q)  Why don’t you have packages?  Everyone else has packages – isn’t that the best deal?

A)   We don’t offer packages simply because we believe you should be able to chose what you want – not have to pick from what we think is easiest or most profitable for us! We do require minimum print purchases so that we can justify all the time spent working with your images and so that you have a nice collection of professionally printed portraits once you’ve finished your session.  If you simply MUST have a package or can’t make up your mind, give us a call and we’ll put something together. We’re confident that, if you compare our pricing with any of our competitors, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Q)  Do you charge me extra for editing my images?

A)  No – we don’t believe you should have to pay extra for what makes our photos professional – that’s why you’ve hired us.  We give each and every one of your proofs full editing before placing them in your gallery – this includes removing wisps of hair, glasses glare, most blemishes and the occasional bra strap or tan line. If extensive editing is required (like to remove braces or for severe acne) there is an additional charge of $15 per photo.  We also publish a full gallery of black and white proofs and will do special request editing (selective color, sepia, texture overlays, etc…) for no charge – just let us know at your slideshow if there’s something you’d like to see.

Q)  Can I get a ‘glamour shot’ sort of look – you know… like the mall photo places and super-studio looking stuff… where my skin is all super-smooth?

A)  We can do that but you might give that look some thought -  if you want your skin to look like it’s been “photoshopped,” in all honesty, while it’s really easy to do (and over-do), it’s not something we usually recommend or offer in the proofs. We can certainly do fun and creative things with your photos but we want everyone to look like themselves in them and not like wax mannequins.

Q)  How many images do I get to chose from with my session?

A)  We typically take over 400 shots for each session and those are narrowed down to about 60 for your initial sideshow. The images you’ll see at your slideshow have had minimal editing but once you chose your 30 favorites, they get fully edited and will be available as your proofs for you to see online.

Q)  What do you charge for prints and other items?

A)  We have a full price listing we’re happy to share with you upon request but here are some common purchases:

Prints

• 11 x 14   $60 – mounted (we recommend all prints larger than 8 x 10 be mounted and include that service in our price) – additional of same pose $55
• 8 x 10    $25 – additional of same pose $20
• 5 x 7       $15.50 – additional of same pose $13.50
• 4 x 5       $12.50 – additional of same pose $10
• 4 x 6       $12.50 – additional of same pose $10

Wallets – prices are for one pose.  your name can be added  – please request at time of order.

Proof Book – spiral bound 4 x 6 (with black edges) custom acetate cover watermarked proof books are $40 for up to 30 images. Additional images can be added for $2/page.  Unless otherwise specified, images will be added from the primary (full color) proofing gallery – if there are other images you’d like to substitute, just let us know.  Proofs can also be ordered unbound.
